USA’s Olivia Weaver has become the latest player to qualify for the season-ending Xbox PSA World Tour Finals after gathering enough points in the recent World Championships to ensure a top eight finish.
Weaver reached her first World Championships semi-final in Cairo last week and has now moved to No.4 in the World Tour Finals Leaderboard, overtaking Belgium’s Nele Gilis. She now sits on 11,035 points, her biggest points total in her career.
In the men’s leaderboard, Mazen Hesham has almost done enough to earn his spot at the World Tour Finals but strong performances from Marwan ElShorbagy in the upcoming Manchester Open and British Open could see the Englishman force his way inside the top eight.
The Manchester Open and the British Open are two of three opportunities where players can pick up valuable points. The other opportunity is the men’s only QSF3 Bronze event from Qatar next week.
