Makin and Elias in Day One upsets

Joel Makin and Diego Elias both won three game battles to produce big upsets on Day One in Cairo, beating World Champion Tarek Momen and defending champion Karim Abdel Gawad.

In earlier matches Nour El Sherbini, Nouran Gohar, Nour El Tayeb and Ali Farag provided home wins for those fans lucky enough to be in the socially distanced crowd.
