El Hammamy, Elias, Weaver & Coll Qualify For SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals 2024-25

Hania El Hammamy, Diego Elias, Olivia Weaver, and Paul Coll have all secured their spots in the SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals 2024-25 after their respective performances at the PSA World Championships confirmed top-eight finishes in the Road to Tour Finals standings.

Women’s World No.3 El Hammamy recorded a career-best finish at the flagship PSA Squash Tour event in Chicago after toppling defending champion Nouran Gohar on her way to an impressive runner-up finish. Despite losing out to now eight-time champion Nour El Sherbini in the final, the Egyptian has moved onto 16,055 points in the latest Road to Tour Finals leaderboard – a total which cannot be surpassed by anybody outside of the current top eight in the standings.

Meanwhile, it is a similar story for men’s World No.3 Diego Elias and World No.4 Paul Coll. The pair also joined El Hammamy in the 16-player line-up in Toronto this June after they both recorded semi-final finishes at the PSA World Championships to sit out of range of anyone outside the top eight.

United States No.1 Olivia Weaver is the final player to have booked her flight to Toronto via her current points total, with the World No.4 sitting on 12,740 points in the latest Road to Tour Finals leaderboard. The 29-year-old came within a game of defeating eventual champion El Sherbini in the semi-finals of the PSA World Championships but eventually lost out in a tough five-game duel.

The respective qualifications for El Hammamy, Elias, Weaver and Coll means there are just four positions left to fill in both the men’s and women’s Squash Tour Finals lineups.

Other notable movers among the two leaderboards include Georgina Kennedy, who has climbed above Amanda Sobhy and into the top eight in the standings. Less than 50 points now split the pair as the last Diamond event of the season, the GillenMarkets British Open, approaches.

To qualify for the event, players must win a prestigious Diamond title, whilst the reigning World Champions also qualify automatically. Any remaining places are allocated to the players who fill out the top eight spots in the Road to Tour Finals standings, with points on offer at all PSA World Events during the season.

The SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals 2024-25 will be held in Canada for the first time in the event’s history when SmartCentres’ Revival Film Studios in Toronto hosts the world’s leading squash players for five days, between June 23-27, 2025. Live action from the SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals will be streamed via SQUASHTV, while the semi-finals and finals will be shown by the PSA’s broadcast partners.
