Egyptian duo Youssef Soliman and Fayrouz Aboelkheir have been called up to the upcoming SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals line-ups after compatriots Tarek Momen and Amina Orfi withdrew from the competitions.
Momen’s immediate retirement from the PSA Squash Tour has meant that Soliman will be making his Tour Finals debut. The World No.9 reached the finals of the Silicon Valley Open and Ace Malaysia Cup as well as reaching his first World Championships quarter finals this season to earn ninth spot in the Road to Tour Finals rankings.
He’ll sit in Group A alongside top seed Mostafa Asal, World No.4 Joel Makin and current English No.1 Marwan Elshorbagy.
In the women’s draw, World No.5 Amina Orfi has withdrawn from what would have been her first appearance at the Tour Finals due to suffering an injury.
Orfi’s long time junior rival and current World No.14 Fayrouz Aboelkheir has taken the vacant spot after she finished 13th in the Road to Tour Finals standings. Rowan Elaraby and Nada Abbas both finished higher in the standings than the 19-year-old but injury and visa issues have meant that the place has gone to Aboelkheir.
As Orfi was a top four seed, the groups have been moved around with Watanabe now becoming the No.4 seed and moving to Group B with Weaver, Subramaniam and now Aboelkheir whilst USA’s Sobhy moves to Group A.
