World No.1 Nouran Gohar and World No.2 Ali Farag have secured their spots in the SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals 2024-25 after their victories at the Grasshopper Cup 2025 ensured a top-eight finish in the Road to Tour Finals standings.
Fara, who defeated current World Champion Diego Elias in the final to capture his fifth title of the season, moved up to 19,595 points – a total which cannot be surpassed by anybody outside of the current top eight in the standings.
It is a similar case for Women’s Grasshopper Cup champion Nouran Gohar, whose total of 19,475 is out of reach of anybody currently beneath the top eight automatic qualifying positions.
The pair join Egyptian Open champions Mostafa Asal and Nour El Sherbini as the only players to have so far booked their spots in the season-ending SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals.
Elsewhere, Grasshopper Cup runner-up Sivansangari Subramaniam has jumped up into the top eight in the women’s standings after her impressive run in Zurich. The Malaysian No.1 has overtaken Rowan Elaraby, Georgina Kennedy and Amanda Sobhy – with Elaraby dropping out of the top eight qualifying positions at her expense.
Other significant movers in the men’s leaderboard include Squash on Fire Open champion Marwan ElShorbagy, who jumped above older brother Mohamed ElShorbagy into fifth position, and Eain Yow Ng moving up two spots to 11th after his runner-up finish in Washington D.C.
To qualify for the event, players must win a prestigious Diamond title, whilst the reigning World Champions also qualify automatically. Any remaining places are allocated to the players who fill out the top eight spots in the Road to Tour Finals standings, with points on offer at all PSA World Events during the season.
The SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals 2024-25 will be held in Canada for the first time in the event’s history when SmartCentres’ Revival Film Studios in Toronto hosts the world’s leading squash players for five days, between June 25-29, 2025.
