Men’s World No.6 Mohamed ElShorbagy has withdrawn from the SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals due to an adductor injury sustained during yesterday’s Group B defeat to Egypt’s Karim Abdel Gawad.
ElShorbagy was unable to qualify for the semi-finals after losses to World No.3 Paul Coll and Gawad left him bottom of the group. As a result, Elias gets an automatic 2-0 win, ensuring he finishes top of Group B on 11 points.
He will now play the runner-up of Group A in the last four, which will be either World No.4 Joel Makin or World No.5 Marwan ElShorbagy, who play tonight. Gawad finishes second in Group B and will play World No.1 Mostafa Asal, who has topped Group A.
